Thank you: do not forget to entertain kids

do not forget to entertain kidsMy aunt ran Thanksgiving celebrations for years, and over time, has accumulated a lot of statues and other breakable objects which she proudly displayed in his home. Were there when I was a kid, but once my generation got older, he started to gather again.

Fast forward 10 or so years, all those little children have grown up with children of their own. Period of solitude was gone and the pitter patter and several smaller feet was once again heard in her home. She did her best, but things are broken. My kids broke things, his nephews broke things and finally told to forget about it and starting to have Thanksgiving somewhere else.

When you have a great Thanksgiving dinner family, you have to take children into account. Not only when it comes to break everything yourself, but their needs and wants as well. The last thing a parent wants is little Susie pulling on their Sleeve every five minutes, telling him that she is bored and wants to go home.

When planning a big party, search for and reserve an area for each age group. Keep an open and filled with some toys for the younger set, or asking parents to bring some of their baby's favorite toys to the room.

If there are older kids, try to set up a playroom with some Xbox or Wii games for them to play. Once again, you can ask parents to bring a system and games as well. This should keep them busy for most of the festivals post-Thanksgiving, so adults can sit, talk, socialize and … of course … sleep.

You also need to proof your child based on age groups. Keep all electronic plug-in used not covered and try to remove all sharp objects within reaching distance. A good rule of thumb is to keep everything at least three feet off the ground, but also remember that toddlers are inventive.

Even with all these precautions, we are going to be rambunctious children running through the House and some things may get broken. Everything that is valuable or irreplaceable should be taken out all together. Do not leave to chance that tea set of your grandmother survived the assault kiddie and just take it away in a place where nobody can get to it.

This may seem like a lot of work, but is necessary if you want to have a safe holiday season and happy.
