Country Theme
A country theme is best in a bedroom or kitchen as it makes the house feel more home grown in a way. Try using pastel colours eg: blue, pink, green, wood and white. Use floral designs in things like rugs and bed sheet covers. Don’t add to many colours ana try to stick to one of the pastel colours. Once you have your pastel colour scheme try to stick to it. Try to make your wall hangings, blinds even door handles have a pastel theme. This sounds harder then it is. If you arent to sure about pastel colours then first try white and woody shades. These can be easier to co-ordinate if you don’t find designing rooms comes naturally to yourself.
For decorations in a country room you should go for ones that feature nature. You could even choose ones that feature certain seasons to fit the colour scheme of your room. For example you could use winter in a cream coloured room.
When adding your furniture and decorations don’t make the room to cluttered. You will find less will make the room more inviting and easier to move around in.
Olden style dressers, beds and closets are perfect for a country room. If you find that the furniture doesn’t follow you colour scheme you can always paint it the right colour. For example if you had a bright red dresser you can paint it a lighter shade by adding a white or a cream colour to it.
